bike locks
alkfj j asked:

Okay, me and my friend rode our bikes to coco walk (a very small mall) and locked our bikes up to a bench and decided to go walk to the music store. When we came back we couldn't find our bikes. Apparently "we weren't allowed to lock our bikes up" and we had to use special bike locking stations. so they cut my 40$ lock and my friend 30$ lock and refused to pay for them. How can this be legal??
there is a difference between public and privet property dumb ****!

  • J says:

Yes. The represent the mall owners. Therefore, they have the ability to enforce regulations on the premises that their employer sees fit. Simple example, if someone comes to you house and locks a bike to your house, can you or your parents cut off the lock? Yes, because you own that property.

your bikes were chained to a bench and not to where they were supposed to be. the cops had every right to cut your locks. this would be just like parking illegally and getting your car towed. cops wont bail ur car out either haha
