    Just picked up a Tuff Stuff brand bike chain in NYC as a cheaper alternative to the Kryptonite series. Anyone had any experience with these? Anyone had a bike stolen using Tuff Stuff?

    Hey everyone,

    So, during my first year at my university I made the grim mistake of using a cable lock on my bike. Well, I bet you can guess what happened....my bike was stolen.

    I now have a new bike and am looking to purchase a more secure lock for it. Preferably a U-lock or chain lock. I would like to spend under or around $30. It would be nice if it had some anti-theft guarantee, but it is not mandatory.

    The ones that I have found the most are Kryptonite and OnGuard, but I am sure that there are others.

    What can you guys suggest for this price range?

    My key broke in the lock and I'm having a hell of a time trying to remove the lock. I've used a 32 tpi "bi-metal" hacksaw blade and that hasn't worked at all. It's a Kryptonite brand hardened-steel lock. Does anyone know of a way I might be able to remove it? From my understanding, purchasing bolt cutters would be ineffective.
