dtballer although your comment was 7 months ago and probably have figured it out by now, by you loosening the “screw” of the barrel adjustment you are bringing the housing further away from the object you are adjusting making it a more tense line, my question for you is what spring r u refering too? there is no spring in this equation that has any affect on anything (if that helps) your spring it not adjustable the stops are but not the spring it’s wither tension or stopping points

  • 6mmhunter1 says:

one or “tother” nothing else, unless its bent

On some cheaper bikes the derailer barrol on the handal bar may not be ajustable.

  • lustikus888 says:

wow, it’s true, you are a fucking facist. and an american, let me think about … not suprised

  • wjp255 says:

Me a fascist? Hardly. I think your whole country reeks of fascism. After all, what about 6 million dead Jews at the hand of a madman? Guten tag!

  • lustikus888 says:

your are the typically american fool who thinks that the now living germans are the same RACIST (not facist you nutter) as 60 years ago. i think what america does to the world today is not even better than the shit that this little homophobic pussy named hitler did. hail to the real nazis, you americans!

  • tamadun says:

    good job, prariepath!

this was a good video. Now make one on how to adjust a Felt B2

  • johnstall5350 says:

    very educated statement….
first there is no way to define a typical american because there are way to many different sub-cultures in america.
also besides the fact that your comparison of america to nazis is just ridiculous, you fail to realize that the government and their actions, and americans (the people) are two different things.

  • lustikus888 says:

oh well, i ment the government. and such americans like him. read carefully and then start to argue, please.

  • johnstall5350 says:

read carefully?! i did and the way you wrote it clearly was in part directed at americans and not just the government (whether you meant for it or not thats still how you wrote it). and the fact that you even had to explain yourself shows that.

  • drexelur1 says:

People, this is a video on how to adjust a front deraileur. Why are you arguing about international politics and racism here? Please! (Rolling my eyes.)

    word

  • cuevarap says:

Engrave this in your mind: barrel adjusters are only fine tuners (brakes or derailleurs) producing millimetric movements; clockwise they loosen the cable, counter clockwise they tighten. The heavy adjustment is done through the cable nut.

  • LongliveNessie says:

i have a really old bike i just got and cant find the cable nut.. wheres it at.

  • cuevarap says:

Are u looking for the derailleur or brake cable nut? The cable nut or bolt should be located close to the end of the cable, just beyond the fine tuner of the rear derailleur (the front derailleur doesn’t have a fine tuner close to the bolt). Same with the brake cables depending type of brakes. By means of it the cables are tightly fastened. Hard to miss, search for them carefully.
