Master Lock 8114D The Master Lock 8114D Combination Cable Lock is a good deterrent to a thief. It has a 5 foot by 5 1/6 inch (1.5m by 8mm) self coiling braided steel cable. Combined with an integrated lock and body, you bike will have a measure of security that will make someone think twice before they try and hack this lock.

That's provided you are in the day light. As mentioned in another self coiling cable review, you get what you pay for. This lock is good, but not good enough by itself.

My recommendation to anyone that wants to purchase the less expensive locks is to buy 2 to 3 of them. Quantum braided steel cables are tough and protective. Cable locks can also be used to further enhance another cable lock. The only problem that presents is this. If you spent the money on the more expensive cable locks, then you would have have to purchase more than one lock.

I understand that Master Lock is a valued company recognized around the world. They are associated with padlock and other security products, but this is a review site and I have to be honest with potential product buyers.

I would rate this product to be used in an extremely low crime area.
